Equipment: Vertical Sorter

  • Display Name: Vertical Sorter
  • Type Name: VerticalSorter

Description

VerticalSorters is used to divert products between two destination conveyors located on top of each other. By assigning a Divert Rule to a VerticalSorter, the user can customize when the VerticalSorter deploys and retracts to sort products.

A VerticalSorter is made up of 2 conveyors (leading and trailing conveyors) that are customizable like any other conveyors.

Creation

From the Toolbox, simply drag and drop a VerticalSorter into the simulation.

Access

From the Project Explorer > Equipments > VerticalSorter.

Or directly by clicking on the VerticalSorter in the simulation.

Access the individual conveyors of a VerticalSorter:

From the Project Explorer > Equipments > Conveyors.

or directly in the simulation: right-click on the VerticalSorter, and select Select Leading Conveyor or Select Trailing Conveyor.

Properties

Name Description
Leading Conveyor The upstream conveyor.
Trailing Conveyor The downstream conveyor.
Source The conveyor feeding products into the leading conveyor.
Upper Destination The conveyor connected when the VerticalSorter is retracted.
Lower Destination The connected conveyor when the VerticalSorter is deployed.
Rule Divert Rule used to evaluate when to deploy or retract.
Deployed If True, the VerticalSorter feeds products into the upper destination conveyor.
Max Deployment Angle Angle in degrees between the retracted and deployed position of the leading conveyor.
Load Sharing If greater than zero, the VerticalSorter will share the load between up and bottom destination.
  • When there are no constraints downstream, the VerticalSorter divert X products down, then X products up where X is the number specified in the property Load Sharing.
  • If the Up of Down destination is cascade stopped, the VerticalSorter will divert automatically to the free destination (if available) and revert back to normal load sharing when the constraint is removed. This may result in the number of products diverted consecutively on a destination being different from the one specified in the property Load Sharing.
